The Joint-School UK English and Culture Study Tour has been off to an exciting start with PLK Women’s Welfare Club Western District Fung Lee Pui Yiu Primary School! After settling in, students began their learning at the language school with daily English classes, then expanded their understanding through real-world cultural exploration. With guidance from our teachers, we connected what we learned in class to the stories behind famous landmarks and museum collections—making every lesson feel meaningful and memorable.
During our days in London, we visited iconic places such as the British Museum, Hyde Park, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, the Thames, and even the London Eye! We enjoyed UK snacks during our outdoor moments and captured countless photos along the way. One of the trip highlights was our dinner experience in Chinatown, where students practiced budgeting and teamwork while learning about money, time, and culture in a practical way. Students also had lively conversations with international classmates, comparing customs and sharing impressions of the UK together.
As the journey continued, some students initially felt a little homesick, but with encouragement and new friendships, they gained confidence—and even wished the trip could last longer! We also had a special Oxford experience, joining the Christ Church Harry Potter Film Locations Tour, followed by a walking tour that offered a glimpse into university life. Our later days included visiting major sights such as Buckingham Palace and other local attractions, and we returned home grateful for every moment of learning beyond the classroom. We would also like to thank the teachers and principals from both schools, as well as our parents, for their care, support, and trust throughout the trip.
